Robin McNamara

Robin McNamara, a Newton, Massachusetts native, started his musical career singing in clubs throughout New England in the mid-sixties with “Robin and the Hoods”. Moving to New York City, Robin was soon cast in the chorus of HAIR as understudy to Keith Carradine.
Robin soon took over the role of Wolf, and shortly afterwards was cast in one of the two lead male roles as Claude. Claude sang some of the show's strongest songs, including "Hair", "Where Do I Go", "Let The Sunshine In" as well as many others! While performing in HAIR, Robin was introduced to legendary award-winning producer/songwriter Jeff Barry. Robin was signed to Jeff’s Steed Records label. Their collaboration lead to the hit single and album, “Lay A Little Lovin’ On Me” and the follow-up hit “Got To Believe In Love”. The entire cast of HAIR contributed back-up vocals to the album.
Robin continued to tour into the nineties before taking a break. In 2004 Robin started recording a new CD, and in August of that year Robin and producer Jeff Barry reunited after 33 years on the upcoming release, “Mary, Janey, and Me”. The song has been getting airplay in select markets around the country, and the new CD is slated for a summer 2006 release.
Robin’s new show will take the audience on a rock n’ roll musical ride from the sixties up through today with the music that made him famous plus songs from HAIR and Robin’s latest release.
